Ventura Watershed-based Planning Strategies: Framework for Recommendations - 4/21/08

Clark Anderson & Josh Meyer - The Local Government Commission’s “Ahwahnee Water Principles” provide a basis for the “hallmarks” of integrated water and land use planning. This project is particularly focused on the first 5 principles which call for protecting valuable natural areas, directing growth to already developed areas, accommodating growth on a compact footprint, locating development to allow more efficient development patterns, designing the built environment to minimize its impacts on water and other natural resources. This presentation outlines the interrelated planning goals discussed at the meeting.
